AI image generation technology has taken a monumental leap forward with the arrival of DALL-E 3. This powerful new model developed by Open AI has demonstrated capabilities far beyond anything we’ve seen before, opening up incredible new possibilities for AI art. In this article, we’ll explore what makes DALL-E 3 so revolutionary, how anyone can […]
DALL·E 2 is an online gallery of AI–generated images created by OpenAI‘s DALL·E artificial intelligence model. The gallery showcases the incredible range of images that the DALL·E AI is capable of creating, from realistic images of people and animals to surreal landscapes and abstractions.
What is DALL·E 2?
DALL·E 2 is an open–source artificial intelligence program that can generate images from textual descriptions, revealed by its creator, OpenAI, on January 5, 2021. It is based on the GPT–3 transformer model and is able to generate images of objects, people, or scenes from textual descriptions, with a high degree of detail and variation.
DALL·E 2 is significantly more powerful than its predecessor, DALL·E, which was based on the GPT–2 transformer model. While DALL·E was able to generate images from simple descriptions, such as “a blue bird“, DALL·E 2 can generate images from more complex descriptions, such as “a blue bird with a long neck and a yellow beak“. In addition to being more powerful, DALL·E 2 is also more efficient than DALL·E.
While DALL·E required a large amount of computational power to generate images, DALL·E 2 can generate images on a standard laptop without the need for a graphics processing unit (GPU). While the capabilities of DALL·E 2 are impressive, there are still some limitations. For example, the program is not yet able to generate images from natural language descriptions, such as “a bird flying in the sky“.
Overall, DALL·E 2 is a major advance in artificial intelligence and image generation. The program‘s ability to generate high–quality images from textual descriptions is a significant step towards the goal of artificial intelligence programs being able to generate images from natural language.
How long does DALL·E 2 take to generate images?
DALL·E 2 is significantly faster than its predecessor, able to generate images in less than a second on a standard GPU. It is also more accurate, able to generate higher-quality images than the original DALL·E.
It takes DALL·E 2 around 30 seconds to generate set of 6 images. Overall, DALL·E 2 is a significant improvement over the original DALL·E program, both in speed and accuracy.
